Insect Screen – Technical Features

Technology & materials

Expansion system, with no holes in the wall

Our insect screens are the result of 30 years of experience in the field: thicker aluminium profiles, powder coating and fiberglass mesh. The expansion system lets you install them without dowels or drills, using only the Allen key included in the kit. Here you will find all the technical details of the vertical and horizontal models.

The strength of aluminium, the simplicity of the expansion system

Unlike the insect screens on the market, the innovative system of our insect screens is based on an expansion mechanism that allows a simple and fast installation. The thickness of the aluminium profiles and the quality of the lacquering make this product resistant and high-performing.

Our new generation expansion insect screens are designed to be installed without making any hole in the wall, thanks to a simple Allen key supplied in the installation kit. With expansion fastening, dowels, screws and drills are no longer needed: you just fit the insect screen into the window opening and turn the screws with the Allen key, so that the frame of the screen adapts perfectly to the wall of the opening. Moreover, the fibreglass insect screen mesh guarantees a unique resistance, making this product effective in every environment.

Thanks to the expansion system and to the experience gained in the sector over the last 30 years, we use profiles and components of a greater thickness than ordinary insect screens on the market, in order to ensure greater strength and solidity.
The profiles and the aluminium elements of the insect screen are coated through a powder coating process on the aluminium that guarantees an exceptional finish.

VERTICAL ROLL-UP INSECT SCREENS

The expansion system also compensates for mistakes made while taking measurements or for any “out-of-square” opening, up to 1.5 cm in width and 1 cm in height. The minimum space required to fit the insect screen cassette inside the window opening is 46 mm.

The insect screen cassette has telescopic caps at its ends that make assembly easier thanks to the springs, which temporarily lock the cassette inside the window opening so you can complete the installation with no worries.

The insect screen also has a self-adjusting brake applied to the structure, which gives you better control over the roll-up speed of the mesh. The brake acts more firmly during the initial opening of the screen and then decreases as the screen rolls back inside the cassette.

HORIZONTAL ROLL-UP INSECT SCREENS

The expansion system also compensates for mistakes made while taking measurements or for any “out-of-square” opening, up to 0.5 cm in width and 1 cm in height

Single and double-panel insect screens come with the “low bottom track”, which gives a walk-over floor profile only 17 mm thick, so it does not obstruct the passage.
The minimum depth required to fit the insect screen cassette inside the window opening is 60 mm.

Horizontal insect screens have a handy quick-release button that makes the screen easier to open.

The self-adjusting brake also gives a more energetic braking action during the initial opening of the screen, which then decreases as the screen rolls back inside the cassette.
